Small Groups
Experience why we say, “You have a place to grow at Haven, in Small Group.”
Our small group ministry equips leaders to shepherd well and equips small group members to grow in Christlikeness, so that the whole church is built up for the work of ministry.
Fall Season starts the week of September 14

Small groups gather in homes throughout Spokane at different times during the week, bringing together up to 12 people for weekly two-hour gatherings. Led by a trained leader, you'll pursue growth in Jesus by discussing Sunday's sermon, praying together, and encouraging one another toward Christlikeness through God's Word.

Groups are a priority at Haven. In groups, some of the most impactful ministry takes place as group members study more deeply the sermon from Sunday and make an effort to apply what they have been taught to their daily lives (James 1:22) God’s word while supporting and sharing life with one another. We believe that meeting together in a group on a regular basis is one of the best things you can do for your spiritual health.
-
As our primary source of equipping at Haven we are intentional about how we form small groups. Everyone who joins a group at Haven has made the decision to complete the “Next Step” class.
After the “Next Step” class you will speak with our Pastor of Small Groups. We have a strong desire to have our groups look like Haven. We desire a great balance of young and older saints, mature and less mature. We want to balance young families and empty nesters and single and married people.

Each group runs from our Ministry Kickoff in September through May. Our Small Groups follow the public school year. Groups don’t meet over the summer, mid-June through August. During the summer months we will have events and read a book as a church. Summer is more relaxed but we still want to gather and grow in groups.

Weekly gatherings keep your group moving forward with the kind of relational momentum that makes real community possible. We all need a place where we’re known, loved, and cared for—and that kind of depth doesn’t happen by accident. It grows through consistent, intentional time together around God’s Word. Meeting weekly gives your group a steady rhythm to build those meaningful relationships.

Groups meet on various nights of the week in homes throughout the local area.

Groups are for adults only. Of course, exceptions are made for newborns up to six months. We leave it up to each family to work out their own childcare. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or swap childcare with another family whose group meets on a different night.

Few things in life are free. And your involvement in a group is no exception! The cost of a group is the cost of commitment. Small Group is a choice that we hope you make for your own growth in Christlikeness.
